Australasian Centre for Policing Research Closure of the Australasian Centre for Policing Research, 31 March 2007. On 29 June 2006, the Australasian Police Ministers’ Council (APMC) endorsed a new direction for cross-jurisdictional arrangements. The Australia New Zealand Policing Support Agency (ANZPSA) will soon be established to provide policy support, strategic advice, research, knowledge management and information sharing capacity across jurisdictions. This represents a significant change in approach that will involve the amalgamation of functions, including those of the ACPR and other Australasian policing coordinating bodies. An implementation team has been established to undertake the practical arrangements for the creation of the new organisation during the first half of 2007. In addition, a number of human resource and other issues have arisen in the recent past that will significantly impact on the future capacity of the Australasian Centre for Policing Research (ACPR). As a consequence of the implementation of ANZPSA, and the previously mentioned issues, the ACPR Board of Control, the Senior Officers’ Group, and the Australasian Police Ministers’ Council agreed that the ACPR cease operations on 31 March 2007. |
